I had a great time at this Con and made some new friends. Thanks to the wonderful ladies who sat next to me and played with my 5-year-old, he really enjoyed your company and toys! Also, thanks to Joshua Buchanan, an amazing illustrator with a couple of awesome graphic novels! I hope to team up with Joshua on future projects! The number of attendees wasn’t what was expected but I still did alright. I’m hoping the show keeps growing, it has a lot of potential.

Grand Rapids Comic Con
A great big show in Grand Rapids! What is it about this town that I love so much? The large crowds and the laid back atmosphere? Yep! The best treat of the show was bringing my son Micah and helping him sell his drawings. He can really draw a crowd! I even had a chance to chat with a publishing agent and talk some shop, that is always fun for me. I didn’t have a chance to meet Kevin Sorbo, but that’s okay, maybe he’ll be back next year, he seems to be a really cool guy!

Howell Comic Con
Another well put together comic-con with low-attendance. I don’t know what the deal is, but people just didn’t show up, and it was such a great venue! The owner was super-cool, I was disappointed that the crowds didn’t show up for this. What a shame.

Grand Con Gaming Convention
A great show indeed! Not only did I get to see Grand Rapids, but I got to meet great artists and finally meet Tom Vasel from the Dice Tower Podcast! As you know I dedicated a character in Journal of an Outlaw to him and Eric Summerer. I even got the info that I needed to move ahead further along on my idea for “Journey of an Outlaw”, the board game I’m creating based on the book. I’ll be back next year for sure!

Fantasticon – Birch Run-Oct 1
A well put together event where I met some great artists. My son Micah even went along and shot the ghostbuster’s thermal packs (it was filled with bubbles). The show suffered from lack of attendance but I’m going to give it another try in the Mt. Pleasant location.
