Book Description
The Journal of an Awful Good Paladin is a spin-off of the comedy series, Journal of an Outlaw. Book 1 is 214 pages with 100 journal entries that introduce a new hero and his companions to the Unremembered Realms. The book series has been described as a blend of Lord of the Rings and Monty Python.
The new book marks the adventures of Nimbus “Stormcloud” Slumberdim and his party of misfits. Unlike the Outlaw from the first three books, Nimbus is a paladin with a heart of gold, so he views the realms differently. The Unremembered Realms is full of surprises, and seeing how Nimbus reacts to situations brings a whole new level of comedy into the series.
From the Back Cover
“I can’t believe it, gang,” I said, through heavy breaths. “We actually did it!”
We all took a moment to look back at the castle, which, just a few hours beforehand, we had snuck in to raid and retrieve an ancient magical artifact. “That was by far the deadliest, trap-filled, fortress I’ve ever been in,” Kellepto the elven rogue said with a smirk. “But with jewelry like this, a girl like me can retire!”
We all had come out with a lot of treasure. Aiden the Cleric, Footpalm the dwarven Monk, and Garrot the Mage were all nodding in agreement. “I hope we never see this place again,” Footpalm said, still sweating from our hasty retreat. “I’ve never fought so many monsters in my life!”
“And I used up all my healing magic,” Aiden stated. “We got out of there just in time!”
“Taking all the treasure and the artifact while the giant slept was an amazing bit of luck,” I said. “Now let’s get out of here before he wakes up and starts hunting us down.”
We were just about to leave when Garrot started looking around wildly, “Uh, oh…” he muttered, “Um…guys…I think I left my backpack in there. We have to go back…”
“What!” everyone shouted at once.
“Remember when you guys were bagging up the treasure?” he began. “Well, I decided to shave off one of the giant’s eyebrows as a joke. I was laughing so hard I must have run off, forgetting my backpack!”
“Well, that’s tough cookies,” the Footpalm said angrily. “You’ll just have to do without your share of the gold.”
“We have to go back,” I told everyone. “I gave the ancient artifact to Garrot to put in his magical Sack of Holding, which he keeps….”
“…in his backpack!” they all groaned at once.
With deep sighs, we all slowly made our way back down the trail toward the castle. It was going to be a long night.
